- Tengku Zatashah
Rather than sit back and rest on her laurels, this prominent member of Malaysian royalty – the second daughter of Malaysia’s ninth Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, uses her influence and position to raise awareness for the causes she believes in. Tengku Zatasha, 46, has been a patron for Make-A-Wish foundation and has helped out in Kechara Soup Kitchen since 2015. In 2016, she launched two social media campaigns to further her causes: the #ZeroFoodWestage campaign was created to encourage major hotels to direct their excess food to Kechara Food Kitchen so they could bring down wastage and also feed the impoverished at the same time. That same year, the princess spearheaded the #SayNo2Plastic social media campaign that encouraged Malaysians to avoid single use plastics – this became one of the largest social media environmental awareness campaigns in the country. She made it a point to walk the talk by posting pictures on social media showing her packing food from vendors in a tiffin carrier instead of plastic packaging. More recently, she hosted a beach cleanup in Pulau Redang where volunteers collected 4,655 plastic bottles and another in Morib where she and 500 volunteers collected 780kg of trash.

“It is not the mountain we conquer but ourselves.” This quote is so apt as I have fear of heights yet with the help of mon amour who helped me all the way up and all the way down holding my hand on the steep scary parts I managed to climb to the top of Sentinel Dome peak summit in Yosemite with an elevation 2476m. I could not have done it without the support of mon amour #neversaynever #nevergiveup #believeinyourself #befearless #yosemite #conqueryourfears #mondaymotivation #amour #adventuresforlife #bucketlist #throwback #highlightof2019
